Details of Experience:

Mr. C. was admitted to Cortlandt Healthcare after being hospitalized for sepsis. Mr. C. presented with an overall decrease in strength, which affected his functional mobility including that of: walking, dressing, bathing, grooming and eating.
Mr. C was evaluated by physical, occupational and speech therapy and found to be appropriate for all disciplines and their services.

Mr. C received physical and occupational therapy six days per week and speech therapy five days per week. Physical and occupational therapy addressed deficits of walking, stairs negotiation, car transfers and decreased ADL’S (Activity of Daily Living). Speech supported Mr. C’s deficits surrounding his difficulty with chewing and swallowing food safely.

After four weeks of skilled physical, occupational and speech therapy, Mr. C was discharged home at an independent level where he was able to walk using a rolling walker, dressing, bathing and eating!
