Sandy is commonly known in the community as the “helper of mankind!” This nickname was awarded to her as a wall plaque at a young age from her church. It would later go on to serve as her inspiration to become a social worker. Sandy’s aunt was also a social work professional. She spent much of her time observing her aunt who was incredibly compassionate in her dealings within family dynamics. When Sandy became older, she looked back and then understood her aunt’s compassion stemming from her career while working with children in foster care and adoption, then as an advocate for seniors. Sandy’s love for art, music, people, and creativity eventually moved her towards her final decision. She earned her Master’s Degree with a specialization working with older adults and their families from Fordham University, later becoming licensed in the state of New York. Sandy often shares a humble thank you to the Cortlandt Healthcare community for choosing her to be part of the wonderful team and corporation!
